There are three sizes available to buy.
- Large (1.3Litres) – this holds 4-5 tumblers, and is an ideal size for a small family. It is our best selling size.
- Small (formerly our L size, 0.7 litre) – this holds 2-3 tumblers, and is an ideal size for one person, or for use as a ‘whisky and water’ jug.
- Mini (25ml) A cute gift, suitable for use as a vase for snowdrops or a toothpick holder.
The weight of the jugs varies from jug to jug, due to the kiln manufacturing process, however, approximate weights are as follows:
- The Large – c. 1.5kg
- The Small – c. 1kg
- The Mini – c.100g
The jugs are made of earthenware pottery.
The jugs are packed individually in brown cardboard boxes, with two inners to keep the jugs in place within the box. The boxes have been drop-tested for breakage.
Please call us immediately and if possible email us a photo of the damaged jug, so that we can contact our courier company. The jug will of course, be replaced at no charge.
Yes this is feasible, but you will need to call us for a price and pay for it by card over the telephone, as the jugs will be sent by Royal Mail as opposed to our normal courier – it costs approximately £11 for a Large jug.
As the jugs are made of earthenware, the jugs are prohibitively expensive to send and also we have done it for customers in the past, and unfortunately more often than not, the jugs either do not arrive and or arrive back with us in a damaged state.
It depends, on the amount purchased and whether the jugs are being sent to the same address. Please call us and we can discuss your requirements over the telephone.
The jugs can be gift wrapped, for an additional fee and we can also include personalised messages/notes with the jugs. Please call or email us on
sales@glugglejugs.co.uk to dissuss.
We recommend that the jugs are washed by hand. They can be occasionally put in the dishwasher, however, frequent washing in the dishwasher may affect the glaze.
The jugs are currently manufactured in Portugal or Sri Lanka, on behalf of Wade Ceramics.
Please call us for a list of our retail outlets, as they are constantly evolving.
